You've got the wood.
We've got the splitter.
A tree came down. The service took the brush and left you eleven hundred pounds of oak rounds in the side yard. Hauling it away costs money. Splitting it by hand costs a weekend and possibly your back.
We tow the splitter to your property and turn that pile into firewood you can actually burn. You keep every stick of it.
The case for it
Why this is cheaper than the alternatives
| Your options | Roughly | What you end up with |
|---|---|---|
| Have the tree service haul the logs away | $70–$250 | An empty yard. And no wood. |
| Rent a splitter yourself | $170–$250/day + tow | A full weekend of work, a hitch you may not have, and a machine you have to return by a deadline. |
| Split it by hand | Free | Two to four days per cord. Fine for ash. Miserable for knotty oak. |
| Buy a green cord instead | $150–$275 | The honest comparison, because your wood is green too and needs the same year of drying. And you still have the original pile in the yard. |
| Buy a seasoned cord instead | $275–$400 | Burnable this winter — but you're paying for somebody else's eighteen months of drying, and you still have the original pile. |
| Have us split it | $185 first cord $160 each additional |
Your own wood, split, stacked if you want, done in an afternoon. Nothing hauled anywhere, and the pile is gone. |
Haul-away and rental ranges are typical published figures for this region; cord prices are 2026 national ranges. Your actual quotes will vary. Green and seasoned are priced separately on purpose — comparing freshly split wood to a seasoned cord would flatter us and mislead you.

What your pile needs to look like
The splitter tows behind a truck and gets set up next to your wood. That puts a few real limits on what we can do.
We can do this
- Rounds cut to 24″ or shorter. That's the machine's capacity, and it's firm.
- Up to about 24″ in diameter. Bigger than that and we'll noodle it down first, which takes longer.
- Reachable by a truck and trailer. A driveway, a yard we can back into, a field edge. We need to get the machine within about 20 feet of the pile.
- Reasonably level, reasonably dry ground.
- Oak, ash, maple, cherry, hickory, locust, sweetgum, poplar. Knotty crotch pieces included, they just take longer.
We can't do this
- Full-length logs. If it's still a 20-foot trunk, it has to be bucked into rounds first. We can quote that separately if you need it.
- Piles only reachable on foot through a gate, down a hill, or across a soft lawn after rain.
- Rounds with metal in them. Old fence line, nails, embedded hardware. It wrecks equipment and it's dangerous.
- Anything we can't safely work around — overhead lines, a slope, a pile stacked against a structure.
Not sure? Send a photo.
Two pictures — one of the pile, one showing how a truck would get to it — and we'll tell you straight whether it's a job, roughly how much wood is there, and what it'll cost. Takes us five minutes and saves everybody a wasted trip.

Standing offer
If you're cutting in Burlington County and you're paying to dump hardwood logs, stop. We'll take clean hardwood in 24″ rounds or log length, free, as long as it's reachable.
Better than that: if your customer wants to keep the wood but doesn't want a pile of rounds, hand them our card. You bill for the removal, they get firewood, nobody pays a tipping fee. We'll pay a referral on jobs that book.
No pine, no metal, no stumps with dirt and rock in them — that's the whole list.
What we'll take
- Oak, ash, maple, cherry, hickory, beech, locust, birch, sweetgum
- Log length or bucked, 24″ rounds preferred
- Diameter 6″ and up
- No pine, spruce, cedar or other softwood
- No stumps, root balls or anything with soil in it
- Nothing with fence wire, nails or spikes
Turn that pile into a winter
Split wood dries about twice as fast as rounds. The sooner it's split, the sooner it burns.
